Why calculate granular expenses?
When applying for a home loan or business financing, lenders scrutinise your living expenses (HEM - Household Expenditure Measure). A common mistake is underestimating costs, which can lead to scrutiny if your bank statements show a different story.
By breaking down expenses into weekly, fortnightly, or monthly buckets, you get a true "Monthly Burn Rate" figure that reflects reality, not just a guess.
What is "Financial Runway"?
Financial Runway is a metric usually applied to startups, but it's critical for personal wealth too. It answers the question:"If my income stopped today, how long could I survive on my liquid assets?"
- Low Risk: 12+ Months (Secure)

- High Risk: < 1 Month (Living pay to pay)
